Deskripsi MK
One of the ways to be successful in studying is that the students should be able to read materials written in English. To support this, English for Academic Purposes is very important. EAP is not intended to teach the students Industrial Engineering materials but to teach components and methods in reading so that the students can be good fast readers. The components are the sentence structure, the predicate structure, the nominal group, conjunction, the topic of the text, topic of the paragraph, main idea, and reference words. The reading methods are previewing, predicting, scanning, and skimming. By EAP the students can improve their ability to understand written English materials of Industrial Engineering field.
Kompetensi
The students are able to know and understand written English materials in the field of Industrial Engineering. They understand reading components and practice reading skills. The components are the sentence structure, the predicate structure, the nominal group, conjunction, the topic of the text, topic of the paragraph, main idea, and reference words. The reading methods are previewing, predicting, scanning and skimming.
